Arsenic
And Old Lace
by Joseph Kesselring. Mortimer Bruster is a newspaperman and author
known for his diatribes against marriage. After being married at
city hall, he takes a quick trip home to tell his two old maid
aunts. While trying to break the news, he discovers his aunts' very
bad habit of murdering lonely old men who have some sort of
religious affiliation and they consider doing it a charity. They
then leave it to their bugle blowing nephew Teddy (who thinks he's
Teddy Roosevelt) to take them to the Panama Canal (the cellar) and
bury them. Add to the mix another nephew who returns to the home
after years of fleeing the authorities due to his "unofficial
practice" of killing people and using their faces to change his.
Watch each character try to find resolve in their suddenly flipped
upside-down lives.
